If you’ve heard of the local sangria business, Simply Sangria, here’s some news for you. Their sangria is now available at Towne East Square. On top of the sangria you can get samples of and buy by the bottle, they have recently added pizza to the menu.

Simply Sangria uses a pizza supplier called Donna Italia. The ready to bake pizzas are offered in 9 and 12-inch sizes and are ready in minutes.
We were told their specials were top sellers, so we decided to go with two of them: a 12-inch chicken pesto pizza and a 9-inch Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza.
This was the latter. There were four pieces of pineapple on top of the pizza, which was a letdown. I think they would have been better suited either chopping the pineapple into smaller pieces so I could get the same flavors in nearly every bite. Otherwise, the pizza was fairly underwhelming. There was minimal Canadian bacon to go around, and the crust just felt pretty dense and try.
On the bright side, the chicken pesto pizza had much more flavor going on. It didn’t taste dry at all. Each slide had a fresher, higher-quality taste to it. Even the crust didn’t feel so dense or dried out. This was the pizza we should have ordered from the start, without bothering to deal with any other flavors. By comparison, this pizza was just all around better and provided a bigger range of flavors.
It’s not too often we eat at the mall. This trip to Towne East was 100% all on visiting Simply Sangria. I’m glad I did, but not sure if I’d go out of my way just for that pizza again. If I’m there out of convenience or to shop, I wouldn’t be opposed ordering another pizza, though.
Their sangria, on the other hand, we’ve had plenty of times and have been big fans.
