Wichita’s newest food truck park opens to the public today on March 1. The Truck Stop is the creation of food truck owner, Willie Finley of Willie’s Wings.
It’s located at 6315 E. Kellogg Dr. which is at the southwest corner of Kellogg and Woodlawn and accessible off Kellogg Dr as you’re heading east.
The Truck Stop will be the largest food truck park of its kind in Wichita and will have room for at least 13 food trucks with the possibility of more. Another key difference is the food truck park will be open seven days a week, with hours of 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Finley’s goal is to have consistency at the park. Diners will know what to expect each week (and weekend) as the food trucks will be signed up for whole week or weekend stretches. The idea is that food truck owners can sign up and reserve their spots in the park and have access to electricity ports depending on the package they purchase.
For the month of March, Finley is waiving the monthly rate to let truck owners give the park a try. Interested owners are encouraged to call 316-730-5659.
For opening day, five food trucks have signed on to be a part of The Truck Stop’s debut, which should coincide with a stretch of nice weather.
- Don Nacho’s Catering and Food Trailer
- Bongo Fruit Smoothies
- Face Stuffer’s Food Wagon
- Busy B’s
- Willie’s Wings
People can follow The Truck Stop on Facebook to see which trucks will be at the food truck park each week.
I wish them the best and hope to check them out this week, so stay tuned for our first look at the new food truck park in the coming days.
