New Paradise Biryani Pointe Indian Cuisine Revisited

You know what’s underrated in Wichita? The Indian food scene. If you’re wanting to try something different around town, make your way over to New Paradise Biryani Pointe Indian Cuisine. And to steal a tagline from a commercial I once heard, long name… but amazing results (or in this case, food).

New Paradise is located near Harry and Rock Road, which is actually a little hotbed area for locally owned restaurants. My favorite time to swing by is over lunchtime, when they have a buffet available for pretty much $14. It’s a great way to try an assortment of foods you may not be familiar with.

The buffet line has all my favorite dishes like, Paneer tikka masala, mixed vegetable manchurian, egg curry, Gulab jamoon, chicken tikka masala, boneless chicken biryani, chicken tandoori, and so much more.

On most visits, I make my way down the buffet line a couple of times. Don’t make the same mistake I did recently. Show up around 11 a.m. or noon to ensure you get your fill. Anytime after 1 p.m. and they start to run out of items and stop refilling the buffet stations around that time.

And one of my favorite parts about New Paradise is the warm naan bread.

All the food is quite tasty. I’ve never had a bad meal there. The only gripe I have with New Paradise is you may not get a refill on your drink. They aren’t the best at checking on tables to see if you need anything.

Aside from that, you can’t go wrong with the food. If you want spicy, some dishes provide some heat. If you want vegetarian meals, there’s a good selection of that. There’s literally something there for everyone. I’d go as far to say they are the best Indian restaurant in Wichita, if not, in the top 2 or 3.
