Let’s Review Red Lobster’s Ultimate Endless Shimp

Red Lobster

Let’s review Red Lobster!

Founded in 1968, Red Lobster is an American casual dining seafood restaurant chain who started in Lakeland, Fl and is now headquartered in Orlando. With roughly 750 locations all over the world, two can be found here in Wichita, KS.

For this particular review, we stopped by 555 S. West Street, where they had a promotion running for Ultimate Endless Shrimp.

This event is held annually at Red Lobster and gives diners a chance to eat all the shrimp they can for $21.99 (prices may be higher in different states). You have your choice of several options including Parmesan-Bacon Shrimp Scampi, Argentine Red Shrimp, Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, and Garlic Shrimp Scampi.

Of course, all visits included their cheddar bay biscuits, which my daughter and I stuffed our faces with. This may be the best part about Red Lobster.

From there, we ordered all five options, which came with one side. I left that up to my daughter and she chose fries. Here are all five shrimp dishes.

Red Lobster

When placing our original order, they gave me the option to order 2 or 3 of the shrimp dishes. From there, they would come back and check occasionally where they would offer another 2 to 3 depending on how hungry you were. I made sure to try all five.

Of all the options, my favorite was probably the Argentine red shrimp and the parmesan-bacon shrimp scampi. None of the dishes really blew me away or gave me the feeling that I needed more of that in my life, though. Most of it was doused in so much butter, it was a little overbearing. The ultimate endless shrimp wasn’t horrible by any means, but it was also fairly unmemorable and one of those, “I’ll try it once for the hell of it, but not sure if I’d return.”

I do think it would have been nice if they had a wider offering than just five. Bubba, in the movie Forrest Gump, listed off at least 50 ways to prepare shrimp, so maybe a couple more options would have made this more exciting.

If I do go back to Red Lobster, it’d be for the biscuits. If you want to try the ultimate endless shrimp, you have until November 6.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
