The 41st Annual Wichita Asian Festival takes place today at Century II from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It’s one of the biggest events in town, drawing large crowds excited to experience different cultures from all over the world.
If this is your first or 41st time attending, here are eight things you should know about this year’s festival.
1.) $5 Tickets
For the first time in the event’s history, they will be charging $5 for tickets, which is still one of the best bangs for your buck festivals in Wichita.

2.) VIP Tickets for Advanced Entry
Do you want to beat the crowds and get in an hour early? You can purchase VIP tickets for $30 which get you in the doors at 4 p.m.

3.) The Food
Ready to explore different Asian cuisines? The Wichita Asian Festival has got you covered with Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, Malaysian, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Arabic, and many others to choose from. Bring cash (and card) to purchase the food, though.
4.) The Pageant
Eight contestants will vie for the title of Miss Wichita Asian Festival. The winner will receive a Wichita Asian Festival scholarship.
5.) Adult Beverages
Also, another rare occurrence for the festival will be the addition of adult beverages available via a cash bar.
Ready to shop? There are over 50 vendors selling clothes, jewelry, crafts and more, the most ever for the festival.
7.) Cultural Performances
Throughout the night, there will be 17 cultural performances. Be sure to catch at least one of these.
8.) First Asian Health Fair
There will be the first Asian Health Fair from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. It’s free to attend and includes free services/screenings by medical professionals and staff. The first 100 participants also receive free Festival entry.
