The Walt’s Klassics building is on the move to downtown Wichita

Walt's

Many readers have been chiming in that they saw the Walt’s Klassics building at 616 S. Tyler Road being transported.

What you saw wasn’t an alien scene out of Independence Day. The move has been planned for months and is part of a grand plan to open a new restaurant in downtown Wichita.

Alex Eftekhar, who opened the wildly popular Station 8 BBQ, has purchased the prefab metal building and is moving the Walt’s Klassics building to downtown within walking distance of Station 8.

The new restaurant will sit right across the street from Station 8 where the land is currently being prepped.  In the meantime, the building is at Central and Washington until it’s time to make the final move. The current plan for the former Walt’s Klassics building is to open a breakfast grill of sorts. Eftekhar plans to install a wood assisted char grill and feature a menu of grilled ham steaks, grilled breakfast steaks, thick bacon, homemade breakfast sausage off the grill, homemade biscuits and waffles, and more.

He has no timetable yet of when the new restaurant will open, but if the food is as good as Station 8, Wichita is in for a treat! I’ll be sure to share more information as it comes along.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
