Being able to provide a unique experience can help set you apart from all the fun there is to be had in Wichita. When it comes to patio time, I’m not sure anybody has something more unique than Nortons Brewing Company and their garden igloos.
If you’ve never heard of them, the garden igloos are basically plastic domes that are heated inside and provide seating to protect you from the Wichita elements. Nortons has transformed their beer garden space to include four garden igloos that people can rent and spend some quality time with family and friends.
The igloos which sit on floating decks were upgraded last year and are something everybody should try at least once. Inside the igloos, you’ll find tables, cushions, and lighting.
The garden igloos seat up to six people. Each igloo is also equipped with its own electric fireplace heater and a dedicated Bluetooth speaker.
To reserve an igloo, you must head to over to their website. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for all reservations. The reservations are for 1 and a half hour time blocks.
If you want to reserve the igloo for 3 hours, a food/drink minimum of $300 is required plus a $150 deposit and non-refundable rental fee of $50.
For what it’s worth, our party of six tried the igloo once, and our tab after an hour and a half was $200. Then again, we love to eat and drink.
A few more things to note: The igloos are for 21+, no pets and no smoking inside. You should arrive 10 minutes before your reservation time. All members of your party should be present when they seat you. And lastly, your party is required to be on one check with an automatic 20% gratuity.
Be sure to add garden igloos to your holiday schedule. We’ll be checking the igloos out again this year. Until then, check out the igloo pictures from last year.
