We were in northeast Wichita one afternoon and looking for a place to catch a game. It feels like there isn’t a ton of options the farther north you go. For example, north Woodlawn feels pretty deserted. But as we kept driving further north, we passed by Jumbo’s Beef & Brew. It’s a place we’ve been to multiple times, but for whatever reason, we forgot they had a bar and a big television so that’s where we dropped by for some apps, drinks, and a game.

In between the beers, shots, cocktails, we needed to snack on something. We already had lunch, so one of their Wagyu beef burgers, wings, or Chicago-style Italian beef sandwiches sounded like too much food.
Instead, we went with a bowl of their Wagyu beef chili which was a no bean chili that came with smoked cheddar, chives, and sour cream. We also had the Korean chicken loaded fries.
Both dishes were fantastic. I stuck with the Korean chicken loaded fries. While I avoided the other burger, wings and sandwiches because it sounded like too much food, the dummy in me went ahead and ordered a dish with too much food. This was truly loaded. The fries offered the perfect crispy exterior with the right amount of seasoning. The crack sauce and Korean chicken were the two stars of this show, though. There was a sweet heat in each bite. I’m not sure what crack sauce consists of, but if it’s made of what the name says it is, I’m not complaining. The dish was delicious and worth a failed test from any probation officer.
On top of that, sitting at the bar was fun. We were able to enjoy the game up and close, have some ice cold drinks, good service and delicious food. We rarely leave the house for games, but glad we did this one time.
