For years, you could find Georgio’s II BBQ on the weekend doing BBQ pop-ups off 13th street by a gas station. In the past month, they’ve moved into a brick & mortar. Georgio’s BBQ has taken over the former T.O.P.S. and Wichita Subs & More space.
We’ve covered their BBQ multiple times over the years. But did you know they do a “Soul Food Sundays” special? That’s what we checked out this past weekend.

Sunday brought out a big line of people. Lots of people came straight from church to get in on their weekend special.
The menu specials included beef short ribs, meatloaf, baked/grilled chicken and neckbones. All meals came with a whopping three sides.
I went with the beef short ribs and neckbones. For the sides, we had mac & cheese, cabbage, greens, yams, mashed potatoes and rice. Every meal also came with bread; we had cornbread.
One of the kids had the short ribs and enjoyed them. He particularly loved the mac & cheese. I went with the neckbones since I’m such a sucker for them.
Georgio’s BBQ really piled up the neckbones. It was so high, I was worried they would pop out of the container before I got home. Neckbones aren’t something you often see at restaurants, and if you do, I encourage you to order them. Don’t worry about the knobby appearance, it’s a must for all carnivores. I loved it’s beefy flavor and how tender it was. The yams and greens were quite tasty as well. I’m not sure if it gets any better than greens paired with some neckbones.
Judging by the lines alone, that was a testament to what people think of Georgio’s BBQ. Soul food fans should add this to their list.
