One of the kids has been getting “influenced” quite a bit by random videos she’s watched on TikTok. There are a couple vloggers she’s been watching who make ramen dishes. We made some attempts to prepare it at home, but she also wanted to give it a try in a restaurant. For that reason, we took the kids to Yokohama Ramen Izakaya.

This was a great way to knock out a couple of things on my list. One, take the kids out for ramen and two, check out Yokohama Ramen Izakaya’s new Green Chilli Ramen.
Our lunch began with some appetizers. The kids wanted gyoza and they were polished off quickly. We also had some Bomb Bomb Shrimp, which you know what the comparison would be. And to round out the apps, we had some jalapeno and cream cheese stuffed peppers.
Our favorite of the group was the Bomb Bomb Shrimp. Even one of the kids who has been starting to like spicy foods thoroughly enjoyed it.
I didn’t get all the pictures, but everyone went with a mix of ramen and pork & rice dishes.
As noted earlier, I went with the green chili seafood shio ramen. It included Japanese salt flavored broth, chef’s special green chili paste, shrimps, scallops, clams, mussels, naruto, corn, egg, cilantro mix and green onions.
The first thing I did was grab the spoon and take in the broth. It was outstanding and I knew I’d be addicted from the start. The broth was unlike any other broth I’ve had around town; it had a noticeable green chili kick in each sip. I know some people may be turned off by seafood in their soups, but there was a nice balance that I think anybody would enjoy.
At first, I didn’t think there was much heat. But with each bite, I could feel the sweat start on my noise. By the end of the meal, it was full on sweat.
This may be my new favorite ramen dish in town, which is high praise considering some of the remarkable options available at local restaurants.
I did take pictures of all the menu pages, but it’s a lot. So instead, here’s the link to their menu.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
