Wichita’s latest coffee shop is doing something different. Las Adelitas Cafe is not like your regular coffee shop. The newest entry to the caffeinated scene in town brings a mix of Latin and Mexican heritage by infusing flavors from both cultures.
This is more than just coffee at Las Adelitas Cafe, it’s about the culture as well.

Las Adelitas Cafe is located on the first floor of The Lux, which is the corner of 1st and Market in downtown Wichita.
If you caught our story on Esperanza Coffee last year, this is the same owner from that pop-up who told me it was his eventual goal to open his own shop. Well, he and his wife finally did it. And those who love his coffee, can also purchase bags of Esperanza Coffee at the brick and mortar space.
Monday, March 20 was the grand opening for Las Adelitas Cafe and they were definitely busy the entire time.
Pastries lovers should note that they carry goods from Juarez Bakery, which isn’t too far from the cafe.
Another thing to note is that seating is quite limited inside.
The coffee shop, with a Hispanic flair, offers an assortment of drinks such as La Chata, La Rosa, Flan, La Fresa de Te matcha and the drink I had, horchata. My drink, which was recommended by the owner, was a flavored coffee with cinnamon rice base, a splash of vanilla and mazapan. It’s no secret I’m not a coffee drinker, but this was right up my alley with a small hint of coffee flavor while also being slightly sweet, but not so much that it was overpowering.
And just so I could get more pictures, I picked up the tab on a couple of customers’ tabs in exchange for them allowing me to snap a quick pic of their drinks. It was a hot brew and an Americano. For what it’s worth, they both said they loved it.
