First look at the east side Sesame Mediterranean Kitchen at Braeburn Square

Sesame – Mediterranean Kitchen

A slew of new restaurants are preparing to open at Braeburn Square on the Wichita State University campus. The first to arrive is the fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant, Sesame – Mediterranean Kitchen, who has one other location in NewMarket Square.

Longtime fans of the local restaurant scene are probably familiar with the owner, Youssef Youssef, who started such restaurants in Wichita like Mediterranean Grill, Le Monde, and Marbella.

Sesame Mediterranean Kitchen is a simpler concept for diners looking for a more casual dining experience.

I had a meeting and tossed out the suggestion of checking out Sesame’s new location. It was a great space for me to have my meeting and check out a new restaurant.

The menu was the same as their west side counterpart, featuring sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps, pizza, kebabs, pastas, and desserts.

It’s no secret I’m a fan of the concept and the food. It’s just as advertised, quick, convenient, and good food.

On this particular visit, I had the lamb gyro wrap with a salad. While the salad wasn’t that memorable, the gyro was delicious. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but sometimes it’s hard to have a meeting and sneak a picture while you’re talking. There were huge chunks of lamb that gave the gyro quite a bit of substance.

What’s funny was that while I was trying to eat and focus on what I liked about it, I looked up and the rest of my table had already finished eating their food. They were either starving, or it was that good.

The service was excellent. For a fast casual place where you refill your own drinks, they still stopped by plenty of times to check on customers to see how everyone was doing.

Here’s the menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
