What amazing growth it’s been for the locally owned Ziggy’s Pizza, who last year celebrated their 10-year anniversary.
It’s crazy to believe that a small little pizza shop that started in Clifton Square will soon have four locations starting next week. There’s one further east at The Collective at 12115 E 21st Street N. and another at 8404 W. 13th Street N. out west. The fourth Ziggy’s Pizza is getting ready to celebrate their grand opening next week when their Auburn Hills location opens at 13605 W. Maple St.
The new store is going in a strip center at 135th and Maple at the southwest corner. Owners are planning to open Tuesday, March 14 should things go well. Here’s a sneak peek inside.

First things first, if you see the front door and are wondering why there’s no glass, it’s understandable. The glass crew who was supposed to install it accidentally had a mishap and are having to return another time. So until then, the door you see is just temporary.
I was joined by a few friends and their family. We had a group of 9 and the first thing we noticed about the Ziggy’s Auburn Hills location was how much brighter it was, which made things feel very inviting. There was kind of an east side Ziggy’s feel if you’ve ever been to their store at The Collective off 21st st.
Families and large parties who often have a hard time finding a place to eat together will love the layout of this Ziggy’s location. It seats over 110 people with room for 40 more out on their patio.
The tables and benches were designed with bigger groups in mind. Many of the tables can be put together to seat parties of 8+ people. They also had huge booths that could easily fit 8-10, maybe more depending on if there were many kids in a group.
There was a long bar with plenty of seating for those who wanted to hang out or watch a game.
Along with additional tabletop seating immediately next to the bar.
Our group ordered an assortment of pizzas, wings, beers, Summer brew, and sides. We’re no strangers to Ziggy’s food and didn’t see any difference in quality or taste, which can be hard to come by when trying to replicate everything from location to location.
Auburn Hills is already bare bones when it comes to not just dining, but local dining. There are just a handful of restaurants within a 2-3 mile radius that isn’t national chains or fast food. I believe this should be a very welcome addition to the area, especially those who live around 135th street or even further west.
As of now, it looks like Tuesday, March 14 is the big day. But be sure to follow Ziggy’s Pizza on Facebook to stay up to date on when they open.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
