The former District Taqueria place has a new restaurant called Forge ICT. It’s been described as a restaurant for the “working man” by owner Dave Jewett, who has been no stranger to the local restaurant scene.

Inside, the layout is basically the same as it was in District Taqueria. I’ve always loved the space and feel of the entire strip on Douglas, that also holds Peerless.
Our lunch started with a couple of appetizers. We had the ceviche and beef carpaccio; both of which were served with crostinis. When it came to appetizers, the starters were darn near perfection. I honestly could have stuck with eating off that portion of the menu and left a happy man.
The ceviche offered more than what appears in the picture. There was plenty to go around. It offered nice chunks of shrimp with a light acidic blast of flavors. I couldn’t decide what I loved more, that or the melt-in-your-mouth beef carpaccio. Carpaccio is one of my favorite starters at any restaurant and they did such a great job with their take.
For our main lunch entrees, my buddy went with the smash burger, which was two 1/4 all beef patties and I had the bone-in pork chop.
Sidenote, if you love ketchup with fries, our server told us they didn’t carry it. They had a selection of house made sauces like a garlic aioli. We did find that to be odd because what “working man” doesn’t enjoy ketchup? More so my buddy, who is in construction.
While he devoured the smash burger, I had the bone-in pork chop, which was excellent. The sides, like the appetizers, were great. I particularly enjoyed how simple yet delicious it was. It wasn’t reliant on anything fancy to enhance it. Sometimes I just want a non-bougie pork chop, and this hit the nail on the head.
Exceptional service provided at Forge ICT; there wasn’t a time our drinks were empty. It was a good first visit and can’t wait to stop by for dinner service.

Fondue? Are you kidding? I’ve been looking for fondue anywhere in town and come up empty. I gotta go try this place.
Sorry but this place looks weak for that spot in Wichita
Not good looking food for the price and spot at all
Working mans $60 plus tip lunch for 2? Seriously.
agreed man. When i heard “working mans” i was thinking, oh reasonable priced. Not so much…gonna have to pass.
We ate here the evening it opened with 2 friends. We all had a steak and they were all cooked to perfection! The cheesecake was to die for too! This is our new favorite restaurant in Wichita and we live an hour and half away.
