A visit to this year’s ICT Veg Fest introduced me to Sol Food, they are a pop-up food vendor I’ve been eyeing on the internet and hoping to see out one day. Luckily, the stars alight and a random stop by the local vegan festival gave me the opportunity to finally try their food.

One of the first things I noticed about the team at Sol Food was how engaging and polite they were to nearly every customer. They treated every single person who ordered like family; that was a cool thing to see.
I arrived at the festival later and the only thing they were serving were Jumping Jackfruit Street Tacos. They were corn tortillas filled with seasoned jackfruit, topped with cilantro, diced onion and coleslaw drenched in a special sauce.
The tacos were $3.50 or 5 for $14. I went with the latter…
…and glad I did because they were delicious. There was a sweetness to the tacos, perhaps from the special sauce, that gave a flavorful blast of flavors. Each taco was loaded with plenty of jackfruit and toppings to make sure you got your money’s worth.
I’m not a fast eater, but felt like I ate the records in seconds because they were so good. There was more eating going on, than breathing.
I’m so glad I came across Sol Food. Between how personable they were and the food, it was the perfect combination. I’ve had a string of good fortune with vegan food, I may have to fully transition over.
