Room Escape Changes Coming to Town: Entrap Games & Wichita Room Escape

Are you a fan of the Escape Rooms in Wichita? Have you been dropping down the money to try all the options there are in town? Have you failed miserably over and over lowering your self esteem to the point you question whether you are in fact smarter than a fifth grader?

If you said “Yes” to everything welcome to my world but there’s good news ahead: a new Escape Room option is coming to Wichita in April and changes are being made at Wichita Room Escape. Bad news: your self esteem will probably be getting worse.

Let’s start with the first bit of news:

Entrap Games

Entrap Games is the news of the room escape options coming to Wichita. They officially announced on their Facebook page that they are opening Thursday, April 21st.

They have begun accepting bookings on their official website entrapwichita.com.  The regular cost to play is $30 but they have a promotional code – Hello_Wichita – which will save you 25% OFF the regular price (that is one word with an underline in the middle). The code expires on April 21st and rooms are beginning to fill up fast so act quick! I already have my room reserved for the opening weekend which just happens to coincide with my birthday weekend; nothing like more failure in life to celebrate getting a year older!

Entrap Games is located at 443 N Mosley which is near Mosley and Central not too far from Angela’s Cafe (reviewed here).

Currently they only have one room open called Off Limits.

Here’s the concept:

Your group of friends have been invited to an extravagant dinner party hosted by an eccentric co-worker, and have been given the run of the mansion, aside a single room, in which you were told to keep out of. Eventually, having looked about the rest of the premise, you all stumble towards the secreted room. The door creaks open and the group steps inside. Moments later, the door shuts and locks! There doesn’t seem to be a way out – but surely there must be something! Items in the room reveal a dark side to the owner. Escape, before it’s too late!

Games take an hour.

I’ll have a full review of Entrap Games after my friends and I take the full 60 minutes to be stuck in a room, find out the answer and blame each other for failing to figure it all out. Stay tuned!

Wichita Room Escape

Wichita Room Escape announced over the weekend that their new room “The Mission” is available for booking.

There are a couple differences between this room and other rooms they have to offer. The first being it’s only for 6 people and the second is the kicker. No Clues. If you’re familiar with Wichita Room Escape (or read the review here), you’ll know that you’re allowed three clues to help you along the way. So going from three clues to zero clues is a big big difference.

You can book the room at their website: http://www.wichitaroomescape.com/ – Remember they are located at 3700 E Douglas in Clifton Square.

Here’s the concept and description of the new room: The Mission:

After years of work, you and your team have finally infiltrated the sinister network known as WAEDAAH (WAY-dah). Deep inside their base in the heartland, your team must break into WAEDAAH’s computer system, discover the locations of their other secret bases, and escape before you’re discovered when the guards come back in an hour. Because you’re behind enemy lines, you cannot request clues from headquarters in this game: your team is on its own.

This room is located on the second floor of our building which requires climbing and descending a staircase.

10% Success Rate

A 10% success rate is pretty low and I envision it getting lower. My co-workers and I will be trying this room out soon. I am very hopeful there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. My friends and I have done the two other rooms in The Company and The Studio and failed. So if my co-workers and I don’t escape The Mission, we know who the common denominator and problem is………. Everybody else but me.

Speaking of The Studio, if you have not had a chance to try this out, do so SOON! This room will be closing at the end of April.

Their website also noted that they will be closed for bookings 4/22 through 4/24 while they work to bring us all a brand new game!

Key Quest Escape Room

I really have nothing to post but figured here would be a good spot to remind everybody there is another option in Wichita for Escape Room fun. Key Quest is located inside Laser Quest at 2120 N Woodlawn.

You can check out our review of Key Quest Escape Room here.

As of the writing, they still only have two rooms available: Vacation Vandals and The Cellar. My friends and I did Vacation Vandals and you probably already know how that turned out for us.

I will actually be checking out The Cellar in the coming week with some family and friends.

====================================

My addiction for Escape Rooms is growing and I’m glad there is another option coming to town. I completely believe there’s enough room in this town for multiple options. The thing about Escape Rooms is once you try one once, there’s no sense in going back a second time if you find out the secret to it all. At each place, they are limited to the number of rooms they can offer and after you finish them all it’s a wait and see until a new room is available.

Will my total Escape Record be 0-6 by the end of the month?

I guess you all (or as we say in Kansas y’all) will find out soon enough.

Stay tuned!
