A First Look at Tasty House

A couple years ago one of my favorite restaurants in Yen Ching closed it’s doors.

Thursday morning, the owners of Yen Ching opened up their new restaurant, Tasty House, which brought back many old menu favorites.

Tasty House is located at 2431 N. Greenwich in the same building strip as Blue River Mexican Grill. Thursday was their official opening date and boy was it ever busy. There were lines nearly reaching their doors around lunch hour.

Inside the Tasty House were 4 high three tops, 3 four top tables, 6 two seater tables and six seats against a bench facing the east wall. Probably enough comfortable seating for over 40 people. Now the inside isn’t what you may be familiar with if you were expecting Yen Ching. Tasty House is more quick-service where you walk up to a counter, order your food, pay there and wait for it to be made and delivered to your table or put in a to go container for you.

On my visit, I received my order probably 10 minutes after I ordered; pretty fast considering how busy they were.

Below is their menu, many items you may be familiar with

I was always a huge fan of their Hot and Sour Soup so I just had to order that along with Mongolian Beef.

I’ll admit both items were just as delicious as ever. At many Asian restaurants that serve quick and on the go, sometimes quality goes away such was not the case with my lunch. Both the Hot and Sour Soup and the Mongolian Beef were delicious. I can’t wait to do a full review on Tasty House with whichever lucky friends, family or co-workers I can seem to round up.

In the meantime, Tasty House will be open daily from 11 am – 9 pm.

If you’ve gone, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Dining,
Eddy
