College Hill Creamery Review

At the beginning of 2016, College Hill Creamery underwent new ownership and renovations. When they reopened, they added seating, an expanded menu with more options, and added another floor of what my nieces call “fun”.

Just a tad bit too short!

My nieces and I stopped by College Hill Creamery, located at 3700 E Douglas in Clifton Square, to get a glimpse and, of course, taste of it all.

Upon our arrival, there was a huge selection of options to choose from.

The girls were each able to sample multiple different flavors. After trying some out, they settled for the exact same flavor because that’s what they do…… copy each other…. all the time.

I like them to branch out and try new things so I had to bribe them with dollar bills (which is probably the very last thing I should want them accepting from men) to each try a different flavor.

While they went with the ice cream, I was set to try their caramelized Belgian Waffle with a scoop of ice cream on top. Their waffles are made to order and I’ve been hearing great things about.

Let’s face it. Kids love ice cream. My nieces sure do. After asking them for their thoughts, I already knew what their reactions were going to be and I was right. Cylee kept her comments simple with it was really good while making a quick beeline for their kitchen playset they had upstairs. Bella, meanwhile, was overly dramatic calling it the best ice cream she’s ever had in her life then of course making a beeline for the kitchen playset.

The Belgium Waffle though? Everything I’ve heard was spot on. It was so rich and delicious and the scoop of ice cream added the sweet compliment the waffle needed. I called my nieces over to take a break from playing house to take a bite. I had to introduce them to something much better than the “Leggo my Eggo’s” they get at home. Next thing I know they are wanting to finish my entire waffle themselves.

The kids really loved College Hill Creamery, not just for the ice cream but for the ambiance of it all. It was nice, cozy and really quaint. The entire staff was so kind to the kids which is always a plus considering their clientele.

Mark us down for an eventual return to the Creamery. They are an excellent addition to Clifton Square along with Ziggy’s Pizza, Wichita Room Escape and Dempsey’s Burger Pub; all of which were reviewed here at Wichita By E.B.
