Our next stop on the Wichita Food Truck tours takes us to some very healthy eating courtesy of Kind Kravings!

They are the only known Food Truck in Wichita for this type of food. Their motto is “healing the planet, one plate at a time”.
When I stopped by Kind Kravings, I had no idea this was the type of food they served. I was expecting desserts for whatever reason so it was a surprise to me when I saw their menu. I’m not a vegetarian by any means so I had to go into this review with a completely open mind. I live by this motto: “All Food Matter” so I was actually looking forward to trying something somewhat new to me.
While looking at their menu, I went with the two items that I would have ordered if I had been at a non-Vegetarian restaurant.
Roasted Cauliflower Tacos (corn tortillas, seasoned lentils, roasted cauliflower, pepper lime sauce, cilantro)
Smokey Chipotle Burger with a salad (sprouted grain bun, black bean & rice burger, lettuce, tomato, onion, chipotle sauce, and Kravings signature sauce)
It took roughly around 12 minutes for me to get my food and I was off to head back to work.
For starters, the food smelled really organic and earthy; again not what I was expecting when I opened everything up. First up was the Roasted Cauliflower Tacos; I won’t lie. In my first bite, I totally forgot it was a Cauliflower Taco. The Roasted Cauliflower had this chicken type texture that it didn’t dawn on me for the first taco that I was eating a meatless meal. The seasoned lentil, pepper lime sauce, and cilantro did an excellent job of adding a lot of real nice spices and flavor to the tacos, especially the Cauliflower. I gave some to a co-worker who is really into organic eating and she loved it.
Next up was the Smokey Chipotle Burger. Never in my life have I eaten a vegetarian burger so this was my first experience. Add in all the topping and the sprouted grain bun, it was a pretty good sized burger. Upon eating it the texture of the patty was not what I was expecting. It was a bit more stiff and crusty when I bit in. You could really tell it was a vegetarian patty. The black bean flavor really came through. Having the chipotle sauce and Kravings signature sauce really helped throw it off a bit as I’m not the biggest black bean fan. While it wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t my preference. I was a huge fan though of the Roasted Cauliflower Tacos.
Overall, I was very pleased with what I got. I had absolutely no idea what I was walking into when I stopped by Kind Kravings. They have a great cause that is unique to all the food trucks in town. The guy working the truck was an absolute blast to talk to; very enjoyable guy who believed in the product.
I would certainly recommend this truck to anyone. Open up your appetites to a new type of eating if you haven’t tried it before. I always try to get my friends to try new things so it’s only right I do the same thing to all of you readers. You never know what your next favorite food could be.
