Would you be surprised if I told you there was a new escape room open in Wichita?
There is and it’s called We Xcape.
They are located at 2020 N Woodlawn Suite 360 which is in the building immediately south of Blarney Stone at 21st and Woodlawn.
In an era where escape rooms are popping up left and right, it’s time these new businesses start to do something to differentiate themselves from the competition. That is what We Xcape sets out to do with their room offerings.
There are currently two rooms available at the moment called Last Hope and Phantom Treasures and a third room to be completed very soon called Key of the Time. Phantom Treasures takes up to 6 people while the other rooms will take up to 8.
My family and friends stopped by this week to see what We Xcape could do to make them unique and something different than every other room escape we have tried in town. On our visit, we attempted both rooms.
As usual, we won’t give anything away inside the room but just offer some thoughts on our experiences.
For starters, we completed one room (Phantom Treasures) and failed to complete one (Last Hope).
What We Xcape does really is different and isn’t your basic room. It’s more than just looking at a clock, seeing the time and using the time to unlock a keypad. It’s beyond that. Each room requires you to really think outside the box and includes very cool mechanisms and puzzles that we haven’t seen in the competitors. It’s a good mix of technology, electronics and just different brain teasers that we weren’t used to that make the room much more interactive. Then add in some things to mess with your sensory and it makes the room that much tougher. All in all, it is an experience that would be extremely difficult to replicate.
It was a fresh experience after literally trying every single other room escape in town. We liked their attempts at offering something new.
Each room runs $25 but if you check out their webpage or Facebook there are discounts available to drop that price down to really make it worth your time. Give it a go and let me know your thoughts!
