On February 7th, 2011, Wichita By E.B. was started as a little hobby because it combined two of my favorite things.
1.) Trying new things
2.) Eating out
Over the years it’s grown to be something I never thought it’d be. Originally my guess was it would be something my friends would read out of pity for my silly life.
But in the first couple months, I would get around 1-2,000 readers. Five and a half years later, the site is now averaging around 40-70,000 readers a month. One thing I’ve learned, Wichita loves to get out of their house to eat food.
In the span of five and a half years, over 500 blogs have been written and lit-er-ally thousands of dollars spent on eating out, trying new establishments or buying gimmick products. I’ll be the first to say this isn’t a one person hobby….. or a cheap one for that matter either.
In this November month of Thanks, I wanted to thank the 100+ people who helped make this site what is has come to be. The 100+ people that give the readers something to actually read about. These people I have interviewed, had breakfast, lunch and dinner with, got locked in and out of escape rooms with, ate 30+ burgers in three months with, tried over a dozen different hummuses with, buy into my crazy ideas and sometimes given 2 minutes notice that they need to be ready to get something to eat because I’m on my way to pick them up.
They put up with my outlandish and extravagant schemes, out of control food binges, unhealthy amounts of dining out, and my continual thirst to find something new Wichita.
I’m sure I forgot some people and I apologize but here’s what my old age brain was able to put together.
