One of my favorite diners in town and obviously the most popular now given all the love they get from ESPN was recently named best breakfast sandwich in Kansas.
Food Network put out their list found here naming each state’s best breakfast sandwich. They chose Doo-Dah Diner’s Fried Bologna Sandwich as tops in Kansas.
According to their menu, the Fried Bologna and Egg Sandwich consists of: A thick cut of fried bologna & a fried egg on toasted wheat berry bread served with hash browns.

Bologna may conjure images of school cafeterias. However, the Fried Bologna and Egg breakfast sandwich at the unpretentious Doo-Dah Diner is cause for resurrecting the processed deli meat. The cooks envelop the thick, crispy slab of bologna in runny fried egg, gooey Cheddar and toasted wheat berry bread. It’s helped Doo Dah gain such a loyal following, locals have voted it Wichitaâs Best Breakfast three years in a row.
Admittedly this is not an item I’ve had yet from Doo-Dah Diner but will have to move it up my list soon.
