Starting Thursday, April 12, one of my favorite restaurants around town will soon be adding Mediterranean style pita pizzas to their menu and let me tell you, They…Are…Glorious! While it doesn’t hit the menu until Thursday, they will gladly make the pizza for you ahead of time upon request.
I stopped in earlier this week to get a sneak peak at these pita pizzas and I am pretty sure I won’t be able to wait until Thursday to try them again. On my visit, they had two different offerings on hand: a vegetarian and a chicken. They plan to have a sun-dried tomato option by next week as well.
The pizzas are around eight inches and the owners have currently set it at $5.99 which is a great price.
Admittedly, I almost always avoid vegetarian pizzas as I’m a huge carnivore but a part of me almost liked the vegetarian option more than the chicken.
What makes M.I.F.’s pizza unique is it’s cooked fresh on pita bread making it healthier and lighter. It didn’t give me that weighted down bloated feeling after eating some of the thicker pizzas around town. Imagine a thin pizza which isn’t too crispy. The pizza’s also topped with cheese, black olives, onions, their beloved gyro sauce and za’atar. The Middle Eastern spice gave it a nice additional kick to it that wasn’t spicy and probably best described as “ridiculously delicious”.
This pizza makes a fantastic lunch option. It’s affordable at its price point and not carb heavy that it leaves you feeling like you need a two-hour nap before going back to work. It’s a near certainty I’ll be back before Thursday! Stop in and tell them Wichita By E.B. sent you!
