Wichita Taco Fest announced all 30 vendors who will be slinging out dollar tacos on June 23rd at Lawrence Dumont Stadium. Here’s a look at who all you can expect to be there.
You have a great lineup of different caterers, restaurants, bars, and food trucks on hand. Who do you think is the favorite to win this year?
The event which takes place from 3-9pm. Tickets are $5 beforehand and $10 at the gate; kids 5 and under are free. Tacos will once again be $1 for tacos. People will also only be able to order a limited amount of tacos while in line. This should help lines move quicker.
Other festival features include $2 chips and salsa, elote, a Tequila Expofor $30 to try different tequilas and talk to tequila experts. (Yes, you must be 21 or older). Beer, margaritas and sangria will be available. There are also competitions including Best Taco, Best Salsa and a Jalapeno Eating Competition. There will be entertainment for the kids like a game section and a face painting tent.
This is going to be such a huge event for the organizers and could determine whether there will be future ones. The first year can be excused on learning curves but mistakes should be reconciled on the second time around. Hopefully they can succeed as it would be a great thing for Wichita as food festivals are always a great time when done right.
