We are about halfway thru the year and it looks like the remaining portion of 2018 should be REALLY exciting if you love chicken. Whether it’s rotisserie chicken, chicken tenders, fried chicken, chicken wings, or just chicken in general, at least seven new chicken restaurants should have their doors open by years end. Come December of 2018 it may just be easier to lay out milk and chicken for Santa than the traditional milk and cookies.
We’ve been keeping an eye on many of the chicken restaurants, their opening dates and nothing has been finalized yet. So just how many chicken restaurants are coming to Wichita? Let’s take a quick count.
- Buffalo Wings & Rings: 2636 N. Greenwich Ct.

The craziest part about the chicken madness is most of them are located in northeast Wichita which is already extremely competitive with Dempsey’s Biscuit Co., Buffalo Wild Wings, two Chick N Max locations, Stroud’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, El Pollo Dorado, Wings and Things, Slim Chickens, Popeye’s, Chick-Fil-A, and whoever else decides to open up. Intrust Bank Arena even has Wingapalooza taking place in August. We might as well have a Chicken Fest while we’re at it.
