Burger King releases Pretzel Chicken Fries

Burger King

Burger KingBurger King has done the Flaming Hot Mac N’ Cheetos, The Whopperito, and plenty other zany creations. The latest to hit this fast food chain is the Pretzel Chicken Fries.

They’ve done regular chicken fries and barbecue chicken fries before but this latest mashup includes pretzels. It’s not the craziest thing Burger King has done and they are actually fairly simple. It’s dippable fries made of boneless white-meat chicken in a crunchy, salty pretzel coating. They will run you a little over $3.

Of course the pictures you see in the advertisements or on TV always end up looking fancier then what you get and such was the case with my visit to Burger King.

There were a total of nine Pretzel Chicken Fries in my order which cost $3.19. I shared this with a friend of mine and you can slightly tell there’s pretzel flavor. If you weren’t told what they were, you probably wouldn’t even have known it was there. They basically taste like your regular chicken fries with a small hint of pretzel in there. The texture is a wee bit different from the regular chicken fries due to the pretzel coating but otherwise it’s not too noticeable. They are also a little salty.

Overall my friend and I finished through them quickly and felt they were decent but nothing that we would go out of our way for again in the future.

When it comes to crazy creations, this was probably a lazy attempt by Burger King’s R&D department if their goal was to make something eye catching and viral.

With the big pickle craze going on, I’m expecting their next zany idea to include that.

We’ll see……….
