Crig’s To-Go Review

One afternoon while browsing around Facebook, I saw some pictures of seafood come up on my feed. It was from a “restaurant” called Crigs To-Go, at least that’s how they were labeled on Facebook. After looking more into it, it appeared that Crigs To-Go was a local cook who made everything out of her own home and you picked up the food once you ordered by calling it in or via Facebook messenger. There is also a small charge for delivery if you want to go that route.

Crigs To-Go is loaded with pictures of different types of meals from smothered chicken, fried chicken, and seafood platters. On the afternoon of my visit, Crigs To-Go had a crab leg boil available. The plate was $20 and included crab legs, potatoes, shrimp, sausage, and corn. The pickup was downtown near Maple and Broadway.

Make sure you put the to go container on the floor of your car because the juices leaked out like crazy while driving home.

As for the crab boil, the flavor was certainly there. Everything tasted great. My biggest gripe was the quality of the shrimp and size of the crab legs. The shrimp was about the size of the baby shrimp you find in salads and the crab legs were intensely thin and lacked little meat. Was it all worth twenty dollars? Perhaps but it did leave me craving a little more. If the shrimp and crab legs were better, I would have been raving even more about it.  Crig’s To-Go had the flavor down but the quality left something to be desired.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
