At the very end of May, the Chalet reopened their doors under new ownership. News came out that there was a remodel of the bar and they hoped to bring back the same magic of the once popular Chalet. Some friends and I stopped in a couple of times over the past week to get a glimpse of the remodel.

The exterior of the Chalet looked the exact same. Upon walking inside, it brought back old memories of the old Chalet. It very much felt like the same Chalet with a new coat of paint, different tables and chairs, different fixtures, and a random assortment of sports banners and pennants that were just thrown together to make it fit a sports bar theme.
For the guys (or maybe even girls) who ever stepped into the mens restroom, we weren’t sure much was done to change the bathroom either. The infamous swinging doors were there too.
We posted the menu earlier which you can find here and ended up ordering their thin crust pizza. The crust felt as if it was undercooked since it was the doughiest crust we’ve ever had. It had the texture of monkeybread; really soft monkeybread. To make matters worst, the ground beef was burnt and tasted like seasoned taco meat. It’s as if it was precooked meat used in their taco salad which was then placed on the pizza and reheated. The pizza was an epic fail for us. I gave the rest of the pizza to my friend who took it home and reheated the pizza in his oven to get the crust right.
Since it’s a bar, you may not care about the ambiance or the food. If you’re going there for drinks and that’s the sole purpose of your visit, then you’ll be fine. They had decent drink specials available. Two different girls were our servers for one of the visits and they were both incredibly friendly, responsive and quick to take care of us. The new Chalet Sports Bar and Grill felt just like any other bar to us. The visit wasn’t anything to write home about. The renovations and the food were not impressive but if it’s just a watering hole you’re looking for, then the Chalet fits the mold.
