Nestle Toll House Cafe Review

Nestle Toll house

A year ago, a combination Baskin Robbins and Nestle Toll House Cafe opened up on the west side of town right by the west Warren Theatre. On a random excursion out west with the kids, we decided to make a quick stop inside Nestle Toll House Cafe to try some cookies.

Inside half of the area is devoted to ice cream while the other half was strictly the cookies. For the purpose of this review and to keep my brother from not getting upset that his kid was stuffed with sugar, we went for just the cookies.

Depending on the type of cookie you get, it could run anywhere from $2-3 and change. They also have a special which allows you to mix and match; buy 3 get 1 free on cookies of equal or lesser value. With two kids with me, this meant they each got two which left me empty handed.

There’s a good variety of sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, creme stuffed cookies and more to choose from. It was one of those times where the girls were stuck standing their taking their sweet time trying to make a decision. Luckily they were open until 9pm that evening otherwise, they would have been closed by the time a decision was made.

After some thought and at the recommendation of the staff, they finally settled on four different cookies. I was able to get a sample of each of the cookies and admittedly, nothing really stood out for me. They tasted like any other cookie that didn’t leave much of an impression. The girls finished one cookie each and were done. Most times we go out to eat, they’ll eat anything sugar related in full so it shocked me they didn’t want to eat both cookies.

On top of the cookies, the setting wasn’t too inviting. It was very bland and basic inside which may have led to the kids wanting to leave sooner. This is in stark contrast to a visit to Freezing Moo where it was really vibrant and they wanted to stick around.

All in all, we weren’t overly impressed with our visit to Neslte Toll House meaning it’s likely we won’t be back.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
