More things to do in town in coming in the form of Board and Brush Creative Studio. The owners of Brown Box Bakery are opening a DIY wood sign workshop at 1108 E Douglas Ave across from the Anchor.
At Board & Brush Creative Studio, their goal is to turn you into a “DIY master” by educating you to understand and appreciate the beauty of raw materials—the wood, the knots, the color variations and the simple imperfections that will make your project unique. Distressing, sanding with the grain, and staining are a few of the important steps they will guide you through to make your personalized wood sign look as though it has been with you for years.
If you’re completely loss like me, they have you covered. They supply the education and the materials.
It’s similar to those wine and paint establishments around town. They offer a variety of hands-on, private experiences workshops, private parties, bridal showers, bachelorette gatherings, children’s birthday bashes, corporate events, and fundraisers. All educational workshops are a flat fee and include everything you will need. And just like the wine and paint places, it’s BYOB. SO you can enjoy a night creating a personalized wood sign while having a drink and socializing with friends and family.
Looking at their October schedule, classes run about $65 each.
For more, check out the video at the beginning of the post. For more information, check out their website or follow them on Facebook. Their grand opening is this Thursday, October 4 at 5:30pm. The first 50 guests into the studio will receive a gift bag full of Board & Brush goodies and coupons good for your first workshop. One lucky winner will receive a free workshop for 6!
