Those people looking for an additional place to eat local and shop local, we have a recommendation worth checking out. The name of this new establishment may ring a bell as they are the sister store to one of the most popular restaurants in Wichita.
Doo-Dah Market opened up a few months ago and features all sorts of local goods from local vendors in town along with take-and-bake meals which are the major focus. All the take-and-bake meals are made right next door at Doo-Dah Diner.

First let’s walk you through their shop. They have mixes and seasonings from Twisted Pepper Co based out of Holland, KS. There’s also one of my favorites, the jalapeno mustard from Sarah Janes. Then there’s salsa from Holmes Made along with local clothing and even toiletries as there really is no downtown grocery store.
And if you’re hungry, Doo-Dah Market has got you covered. You can purchase all sorts of take-and-bake meals that are either frozen or made fresh. They are convenient and easy; just take them home and heat them up. The prices are as follows:
$8 Small entrees ~ serves 1 to 2
$16 Medium entrees ~ serves 3 to 4
$30 Large entrees ~ serves 6 to 8
$5 Small sides ~ serves 1 to 2
$13 Medium sides ~ serves 3 to 4
$23 Large sides ~ serves 6 to 8
$9 Breakfast Burritos ~ serves 1 to 2
$10 Pot Pies ~ serves 1 to 2
(Large entrees/sides must be preordered)
There are many options to choose from like chicken divan, meatloaf, lasagna, macaroni and cheese, bread pudding, shepherds pie, chicken pot pie and chicken & noodles.
We took a handful of them home and tried them out. We tried a mix of the small and medium size portions. The small size portions were great for kids. They loved the lasagna and the macaroni and cheese. I particularly loved the chicken divan and chicken & noodles. And how could one ever go wrong with bread pudding? The medium size portions could very easily be shared by 2-3 adults.
As described by the staff there, they were very convenient. Most of the take-and-bake meals took around 30 minutes in the oven. We liked to have a few of these on hand in our freezer.
Ultimately we really love what Doo-Dah Market is doing for the town. Aside from offering delicious food, they are another outlet for local vendors to get their products out.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
