Sonic’s new footlong Philly Cheesesteaks are now available for a limited time

Sonic is trying out something new for a limited time. Footlong Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches are now available in the Wichita market.  Limited seems to be the key word with this new sandwich. The price is limited at just $3.99. The options are limited to just two: the Classic, with grilled steak, onions, and cheese sauce, and the Spicy, which adds on Baja sauce and sliced jalapeno. What is also limited is the flavor.

We stopped by to try the new options and simply put, “They both suck.”

The grilled steak was incredibly dry, there was little in the way of cheese sauce or Baja sauce on either sandwich, and it lacked any flavor. The hot dog bun was also extremely flimsy as many people may know with their coneys. The cheese sauce tasted like it came from a powder. The only positive was the amount of steak on the sandwich which made it a good deal for $3.99 if you’re looking at it strictly from a cost perspective.

There aren’t many options available for Philly Cheesesteaks in town and that will remain the same as Sonic couldn’t get this off of their menu any quicker.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
