One afternoon, I was looking for somewhere to grab lunch and pump out a blog. I wanted somewhere with a nice view and internet. I thought to myself, “Why not to go some bookstore with a cafe inside?” That’s when it hit me, “Why not go to Watermark?”
So here I am for my latest review:

Since I am not really a reader, the purpose of this review will just cover the cafe portion. Seriously, the most reading I’ll do during the year will be articles about the Shockers or various sports throughout the year. Anything longer and my retention is pathetic.
As I expected, everybody working that afternoon was very pleasant and charming. Why are people who work at bookstore cafes so nice? Is it something in the water?
To start, I ordered two specials on saw that day: orange poppy bread and butter cinnamon sugar bread for $1.50 each. Both of them were fantastic. My favorite of the two was the cinnamon sugar bread. It reminded me a little bit of the pound cake my grandmother used to make. I could have ordered multiple slices of either one and just had that for lunch.
For my lunch, I kept it light and ordered a half sandwich of their Moby Dick which was a tuna salad sandwich with pickle relish, hard-boiled eggs and mayo served on wheat bread. I had apple slices and some iced tea with it. The sandwich wasn’t anything too special and a little on the high end for $5.75. I could really only taste the tuna as there didn’t appear to be much in the way of the pickle relish or hard-boiled eggs.

Here’s an obligatory coffee picture for coffee lovers:
As for the ambiance, it was what I needed to relax and set my mind to typing. I sat on my wooden stool and looked out the window at Oliver traffic.
Overall it was about what I expected on my visit to Watermark. I was thinking it would be great, friendly service, terrific pastries, a relaxing environment and then the sandwich could either be hit or miss.
Here was their menu that afternoon (great time to use pinch and zoom on your phone):
Happy Dining,
