Cheddars
The future west side Cheddars

If it’s one thing that won’t stop in Wichita, it’s the loads of new restaurants that keep popping up. There are lots of exciting additions on the way in the final weeks of 2018 and deep into 2019. Let’s review what we have coming.

1985 Arcade Bar & Grill
1021 W Maple
The new arcade that will serve food and alcohol was originally hoping for a Fall opening but that has been delayed. All we know is that it’s for sure opening in the near future. Facebook

HomeGrown Wichita Eatery

When it comes to popular restaurants out west, I’m not sure there is one busier than HomeGrown. The owners are hoping that popularity can carry over to downtown and east Wichita. The east side location in Bradley Fair is expected to open in March of 2019 while the downtown location in the Spaghetti Works District won’t be coming until 2020.

The Dapper Doughnut
701 E Douglas Avenue
The mini-doughnut shop will open in one of the canopy shops at Union Station. While they don’t have an official opening, you can get a sneak peak of these on Small Business Saturday at their special event. They will be open from 8am to 2pm and offering 50% off all doughnuts. This will just be a one day event until they plan their opening date. Facebook

Vora Restaurant European
3252 E Douglas Ave
The French and Italian restaurant with other European influences will be the feature restaurant in the new Uptown Landing apartment complex. They have their fingers cross for a Christmas time opening.

Cheesecake Factory
Wichita, KS
I’m totally kidding. This one isn’t coming to Wichita. But any time talks of new restaurants come up, Cheesecake Factory is brought up so I figured I might as well answer that here.

This list doesn’t include the random twenty or so additional small mom-and-pop Mexican restaurants that will appear all over town during the next year. When I find those out, you can be sure I’ll be stopping by and passing on the good word of food.

Happy Dining,
Eddy

  1. Thanks for the heads up on the good eats as usual! I believe “White Castles” would’ve gotten me harder than “Cheese Cake Factory”!

  2. YOU….ARE…EVIL!!!! I wanted to believe that CF was coming here but alas…nope. Probably for the best. Wouldn’t have anything to look forward to when going out if town. I always plan trips that are close to CF. Lol

  3. Isnt Huddle House at 21st and Amidon, next to Wendy’s? I just drove past it yesterday, and saw that it’s nearly completed.
