I stopped by this past week. It’s just like ordering at a food truck. You walk up to the window, make your order, pay for it and wait for it. Brown’s Wing World wasn’t slow at all though. He told me it would be ready in about 7 minutes and was nearly spot on. It took eight minutes for everything.
On my visit, I ordered a handful of wings with their special Brown’s wing sauce, a porkchop sandwich and a fried catfish filet. I wanted a shrimp po’boy but they didn’t have any at the time.
The wing sauce was amazing. It had a sweet heat to them that was delicious. The breading on the wing was crunchy with some char to it. There was a good amount of meat on the wings as well. I wouldn’t call them the best wings in all of Wichita but for what its worth I really enjoyed them. The catfish wasn’t bad either. It was made how we like them; thin breading with a decent amount of seasoning. While it was slightly on the salty side, we still had no problem finishing it off. The one major drawback of the meal was the porkchop sandwich. It was just tough all around. Nobody in my family was a fan of it. Had there been a shrimp po’boy sandwich we would have gone with that instead.
If you go here, definitely stick with the wings and catfish. If you try the po’boy, I’d love to hear about it or see a picture.
Otherwise, we enjoyed our brief stop at Brown’s Wing World. Don’t worry about the neighborhood its in or what the building looks like. It’s certainly a place most readers will have to go out of their way for but that’s the fun in being a foodie: the adventure!
Here’s their menu. It’s just as hard to read in person as it is via a picture:
Happy Dining,
