I have many people who have been messaging me about pledge drives and efforts to write about the Wichita Starlite Drive-In.
Looks like that may not be needed now. I was just sent this press release announcing that Tulsa drive-in owner, Blake Smith, has agreed to take over the Starlite Drive-In in what has been labeled “the right deal at the right time”. An anonymous local buyer came in to save the day. At this point, no one knows who but I can assure you that person was not me or any of my friends.
I read that the projectors were a big factor in why the sell didn’t go through originally and not sure what has become of that but for now, fans who have been trying hard to save their drive-in can rejoice.
Looks like I’ll have something to write about when the weather gets warmer!
