Every now and then I will toss up one of these quick recommendations. It’s simply a way for me to make a suggestion at any particular restaurant. We browse through the menu and pick one of our favorite items there. Our latest stop brought us to LeDesma’s Restaurant. It’s a Mexican and American restaurant. They are a complete dive with the old school diner feel; exactly what one would expect on Broadway except this place is way way way north Broadway. Here’s the latest installment of my favorite feature: “Must Try Menu Item“.
At LeDesma’s, you can order all sorts of Mexican and American favorites, comfort foods, breakfast, you name it. But one of the most popular dishes there is ironically enough called the LeDesma’s Special. It’s found on their Mexican breakfast side of the menu. For $10.95, you get a true gut buster that is sure to put you to sleep. You get cheese, diced ham, eggs, jalapenos, fried corn tortilla shells, peppers and whatever other special ingredients they can find to give a complete breakfast.
From the sounds of it and perhaps by the look, it doesn’t appear to be anything special. But it was worth every penny; just an orchestra of flavors that played right to my palate. Top it off with some salsa, and it was even better.
This restaurant won’t win any beauty pageants or make any city best of lists but for what this place offers, I didn’t feel like I wasted my time driving out there for breakfast. The down to earth staff was amazing. I left full and satisfied, what else could I ask for?
