Try Two New Restaurants a Month Challenge

The internet is full of weird and sometimes asinine challenges that really make you scratch your head. But for some reason people see them and the competitive nature or whatever takes a hold of them and they do it.

Knowing this, I wanted to send a challenge out there to everybody in the city of Wichita: Try Two New Restaurants a Month.

As of this point I have less than ten restaurants left in the city to eat at before I’ve completed my goal of visiting every restaurant in Wichita. I want you to experience what I’ve been able to do but of course on a smaller scale. This challenge is something I hope you all really take to heart and consider. Just two a month for the rest of the year? That’s easily achievable and you’ll learn so much doing it. If you want to take it another step, ask for whatever the server recommends and go with that.

I’ve compiled a list of 405 restaurants in the Wichita area you can download here: Wichita By EB Restaurant Challenge. It’s a 3-page PDF document that includes some national chains and hundreds of local restaurants. The list is wide open to restaurants I love and dislike. It’s vast to let you decide for yourself with no pressure or bias. It’s only right you go into each place with an open mind.

For those on Facebook, I invite you then to join the Wichita By E.B. Foodies Discussion Group and share what two places you’ve gone to and your thoughts. Take pictures, take notes and pass on those experiences to others. Once you’re done, challenge someone else. The best way to help the restaurant community in Wichita is word of mouth.

Here’s a protip: let the owner, server or staff know it’s your first time at their place. Restaurant people love hearing it’s your first visit and sometimes are prone to take extra special care of you as they want your return visit. If they ask how you heard about it, let them know you’re there for the Wichita By E.B. “Try Two New Restaurants a Month” Challenge. It’s not a clever name but hopefully it gets amazing results. Let’s make this a big thing and continually grow the community.
