I am often asked about healthy options at restaurants. While it’s not a big focus for me, I’m not against giving new dishes a try from the recommendation I receive. One of the latest suggestions received that seems to be all the rave is the new cauliflower pizza crust option at Il Vicino. For an additional $3, you can opt for this keto friendly, gluten free cauliflower pizza crust.
I stopped by for lunch with some friends recently. We ordered the #3 Motorino (Alfredo sauce, spinach, artichoke hearts, oven roasted tomatoes, balsamic onions, pesto drizzle) and #13 Bianca (Capocollo ham, spicy oil, mozzarella, gorgonzola, blended goat cheese, portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, tomatoes, fresh rosemary) with the cauliflower crust.
It came out quick courtesy of their wood oven and the pizza didn’t miss a beat. First bite in, I remember saying “This is actually delicious!”. Admittedly I was a little hesitant given my past experience with “healthier pizza crusts”. This one was light and flavorful with a slight crisp to it. It wasn’t dense, thick and dry like some of the other gluten free crust around town. We were all fans and this is something I could recommend to those people needing a gluten free option.

So today my daughter , boyfriend and I decided to try the cauliflower crust pizza. My boyfriend and I eat keto and both of us are …. were in ketosis. We’re avid about using our apps, my fitness pal when watching our macros so after we ordered I asked the cashier/waitress about the nutrition facts. She brought up a box and, unfortunately, I couldn’t scan it but I’d get it figured out. I orderd the same pizza shown on your site. It was DELICIOUS!! We all loved the choices we ordered. I then asked the waitress the brand of crust which she was nice enough to find out for me. I did find the website for the company, Rish’s food service ,and found the ingredients And nutrition facts. I am sorry to say that it is NOT Keto friendly as it contains starches and rice flour , yeast and milk. I’m only saying this because of those people who are strict keto… it will knock you out of ketosis. Don’t get me wrong it was a wonderfully flavorful pizza and a crispy crust and we ate every slice! Here is the info I found on Amazon
