Wendy’s Bacon Maple Chicken Sandwich Review

Let’s check out Wendy’s newest limited item menu item, the bacon maple chicken sandwich. They describe them as:

A juicy, lightly-breaded Homestyle chicken breast topped with swiss cheese, three strips of Applewood smoked bacon, and a sweet maple glaze all on a flaky croissant bun. It’s sweet. It’s savory. It’s what you’ll be thinking about the rest of the day.

Word was this took three years to make. This new creation cost $5.60 for just the sandwich which by fast food standards can be pretty high. But is it worth it?

Compared to many of the other creations out there by fast food restaurants, I must admit this was one of the best. It’s hard to go wrong with anything bacon or maple and then throw in chicken which seems to be super hot in the food industry. While I’m not too big on croissants; it was the perfect compliment for this sandwich. It was soft yet firm and kept the entire sandwich in tact. The bacon had a nice maple glaze over it that was delicious. Seriously, I was quite surprised how sweet and savory it was in a great way.

Props to Wendy’s on this one. Compared to fast food, I definitely enjoyed it. Just not sure I’d drop $6 (including tax) on it again given all the other food options in town.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
