March is known for plenty of things like St. Patrick’s Day and March Madness. But for foodies, it’s also the start of the peak times for live crawfish. It’s around this time when crawfish boils begin to pop up.
To those people looking for some affordable live crawfish, Da Chicken Shak & More is the place to be.
Starting March 1, the 13th & Meridian location of Da Chicken Shak & More will be serving live crawfish every Friday and Saturday until the end of the season. They will have their crawfish boils outside starting at 5pm until they sell out.
The prices are as follows:
- $11.99 for a pound
- $29.99 for three pounds
- $44.99 for five pounds
Each order will come with potatoes. Orders of three pounds or more will come with corn and potatoes. And if you go don’t forget to ask about their boiled shrimp. Preorders are available if paid for in advance and to go orders can be placed the day of.
Nine dollars a pound when purchased in bulk for live crawfish is very cheap in Wichita. Those are some of the lowest prices you’ll find around town. Remember this is their north location at 2428 W 13th Street near 13th and Meridian. Do not confuse yourself and stop by the south Da Chicken Shak location or Da Cajun Shak. These boils will only take place at the 13th & Meridian location.
