Must Try Menu Item: Hot & Sour Soup at Panda Cafe

In what is my favorite little segment to write, it’s time to cover one menu item at a restaurant. This time we head over to Pawnee and Oliver to a small little Chinese restaurant that is rarely ever discussed. The latest installment of “Must Try Menu Item“takes us to Panda Cafe: Authentic Chinese Food.

I’m such a huge fanboy of hot & sour soup. Any Chinese restaurant I stop by, it’s a 100% certainty I will order it if its on the menu. At Panda Cafe, they have two sizes available: $2.15 for a pint or $3.99 for a quart.

It does take a little while for them to prepare but it’s so worth it. There were little bits of tofu in there along with nice mushroom chunks. When it comes to hot & sour soup, I like mine with a small hint of sour taste followed by some heat. Panda Cafe serves exactly what I like. It’s not unheard of for me to order a quart, sit in my car, chug half of it down, cry because my throat is burning due to the temperature of my soup, contemplate driving to the hospital for fourth degree burns, chug the rest down, and go home.
