If I’m ever out west and in need of an extremely late night snack, there’s never a debate on where my friends and I will go. It’s Rene’s Mexican Fast Food. They are your standard 24-hour Mexican restaurant that serves burritos, tacos, tortas, enchiladas and everything your stomach will need to soak up those adult beverages. Its not a scientific fact but I believe eating Rene’s after drinking can prevent hangovers the next morning.

While they have an Eisenhower street address, the restaurant is really on west Central just west of 235.
On a recent visit with friends, we ordered their rolled tacos, chimichangas and burritos. For what its worth, I’ve had their tacos before and they don’t measure up to the burritos at all.
When it comes to big unhealthy, stuffed to the max burritos, Rene’s is one of the best. It might have been the liquor talking but each bite was truly heavenly. I’m the type of guy who needs to eat immediately after a night of drinking. So being able to get a huge, more than I should probably be eating portion size is important. Quantity is never an issue at Rene’s.
I tried their chimichanga for the first time at the recommendation of a friend and it hit the spot. It had a nice thinly fried exterior and smothered with every magical cure that prevented any semblance of a hangover the next day.
The girls in our group had the rolled tacos and finished them in no time.
Every visit my friends and I have ever made to Rene’s has been a great time. I can honestly say I’ve never been to there in broad daylight but rumor has it they are open then too.
Here’s their menu:

Tried this on Sunday night on your recommendation. Very disappointed, the burrito and chimichanga that we ordered might as well be labeled “vegetarian” for the small amount of meat contained within, it was mostly peppers and onions. Also tried the beef enchiladas, liked the sauce but again, they were mostly vegetable. Rice and beans on the side were flavorless.
