I have never been to Rib Crib. They have been on my list for some time but I have been so caught up in crossing off the local restaurants from my list I haven’t made it out there. One afternoon I was in the area and figured I’d drop by for lunch to see what it was all about.

For the purposes of the review, I stuck with the Ridge Road location which has become quite the mecca for national chains. There is another location on Rock Road in Derby, KS.
On my arrival, I noticed they had a simple lunch special where you could choose two items for $10. Here’s their lunch special:
I ended up going with the piglet slider and the two ribs at the recommendation from my server. The lunch special also came with a side of fries which were very bland and a little undercooked. The fries were coated with seasoning to hopefully add a little zest but failed in that department. I would have been able to get over that if the rest of the meal was great but it wasn’t.
The piglet slider was OK at best. The pulled pork and polish sausage were alright. They had a small smokey flavor which was made better once drizzled in sauce but otherwise nothing too memorable. I was extremely disappointed in the ribs. They came off the bone with ease but were very dry. I love it when ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and so good, you want to lick your fingers once you’re done. I received the opposite. The look of the ribs alone weren’t appetizing at all.
For a little more than $10, I could have received a similar meal at many places around town but with far superior quality. I’m not sure I’ll be going to another Rib Crib again.
