Looking for some late night tacos on the weekend, Tacos tj 664 might be the answer. They are a Mexican food truck that lives by the motto, “From the border to your order”. You can find them out in front of Villa Del Mar Apartments.

The reason for going was because of their dollar taco Thursday special. Tacos tj 664 has their adovada (marinated pork) tacos for a single buck.
On top of the adovada tacos, we ordered some birria and carne asada tacos and a vampiro which was a crunchy tostada.
For a dollar, I really enjoyed the adovada. It had a very flavorful marinade that was made even better when topped with the spicy guacamole salsa. They were quite generous on the fillings so a few of them would do you right. $3 for a filling Thursday meal? You can’t beat that. The birria was also fairly tender and slightly fatty; having some consume would have made it even better. The carne asada was probably the least liked taco by us. Adovada was the way to go at Tacos tj 664.
And if you’re into tostadas, definitely get yourself a vampiro. Upon further investigation of what a vampiro exactly is, Google told me it was two crisp tortillas with melted cheese and the meat and toppings of your choice sandwiched in the middle. I guess that’s why they call it a crunchy tostada.
The ladies who were working the truck that day were incredibly nice and talked me through the entire menu despite having a line of customers. They were very helpful and friendly. Being open until 2:30am on the weekends also gives foodies another late night spot to try. I remember even seeing them post pictures of working out in the snowstorm earlier this winter. They are dedicated. That’s for sure!
