ABOUT THE OWNERS
My name is Norma Arteaga. I was born and raised in El Salvador. I moved to Wichita, KS in 2006. I come from a large family of mostly women, who I must say have a gift for cooking. I have always been drawn to the kitchen. There is something about seeing people enjoy my food that brings joy to my heart. I must have to say cooking is my passion.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS
A decade ago, my sister and I opened a restaurant “San Salvador Cafe” on North side of town. Unfortunately things did not work out as planned and we closed it down after only 7 months in business. In 2018 after thinking it through, I decided to give it another try. This time around with my two daughters, Roxana and Hazel, as my business partners. We opened for business April 2^nd.  San Salvador Café offer customers Authentic Salvadorian Food. I would have to say our most popular dish is Pupusas, but we offer other traditional dishes as well. We want our customers to enjoy food that has both great quality and taste. Our goal is for our customer to enjoy our delicious food, great service, and overall have a great experience every time they visit us.

WHY THE BUSINESS WAS STARTED
As I mentioned earlier, my sister and I gave it a try 10 years ago. Since closing the business I would occasionally sell Pupusas over the weekend. I used to work at a school, so throughout the Summer I would sell 2-3 times a week so I could have a stable income. I would receive a lot of compliments from my customers. I had a few partnership offers from people I met but after lots of prayer and talking to my daughters we decided to take on the challenge to start as a family owned business.

THE MENU
MOST POPULAR ITEM
Our most popular item is Pupusas and we have 10 different kind of flavors and I think will be adding more items as we go. We have options using pork meat, shrimp, and chicken, but we also use a variety of cheeses and of course we have options for vegetarians as well.
