Lots of rain expected in the forecast with a flurry of Mexican restaurants opening soon

If you’ve been paying attention to the forecast, you’ll notice there’s a ton of rain. What the forecast failed to also let you know is the expected downpour of Mexican food arriving to the food scene here in town too. A variety if different styles of Mexican food is on the horizon…

California Tortilla

The Maryland-based chain is coming to Wichita later this fall. The first location will be in the old Dickey’s Barbecue Pit space at 21st and Greenwich with more locations as a possibility in the future.

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop on north Rock Road

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop at Wichita State

I spoke to Fuzzy’s and the second Fuzzy’s that is going up at Wichita State’s Braeburn Square is scheduled to open around the same time as the fall semester. They are hoping for mid-August.

Los Cabos Mexican Grill

Another Mexican restaurant will be opening at 7011 W. Central called Los Cabos Mexican Grill with no tentative opening date available. If you’re familiar with Cancun Mexican Grill in Park City, expect something similar as its owned by the same family.

Rene’s Restaurant

A third Rene’s Restaurant will be opening in Wichita. Unfortunately, they are staying out west. Even though there are two of them within two miles of each other on Central, the 24-hour Mexican joint found a place out west. The third will be at 220 S. West Street and opening later this summer.

Taco Mamas

Be on the look out for this taco truck coming soon. I’ll have more information on this as it becomes available.

…..and if all of that isn’t enough for you, Wichita Taco Fest tickets are now available for purchase. You can get them at all five Wichita-area MobileComm locations through August 2nd for $10!

Happy Dining,
Eddy
