My Time at Classy Nails and Spa for a Pedicure

It was Mother’s Day. I figured why not pamper my girlfriend a little and take her to get a pedicure. She’s eight months pregnant and that has to be rough on the feet walking around all day carrying a little person inside you. Sometimes I feel like I’m carrying a cow inside of me after the B&C BBQ buffet but that’s no where close to a little human.

So given the day, I asked her where she would like to go get a pedicure. She chose Classy Nails & Spa. I figured, “Why not get one with her and just enjoy the day?”

And that’s what we did. Here is my time getting a pedicure.

I really had no idea what to expect going into Classy Nails. Honestly the only times I’ve walked into one is either in the mall or passing by them at Wal-Mart. Many of those places seem like business as usual; get customers in, get customers out.

Classy Nails was like a whole new world out there.

They had roughly 30 stations with almost everyone taken. The place was packed. Apparently, Mother’s Day is also National Mani and Pedi Day. The owner was also giving roses out to all the mothers. I didn’t get one. It felt like I was getting eliminated on The Bachelorette.

Soon after the rose ceremony, we were taken to our chairs.

They asked me which type of pedicure I wanted. The options seemed so overwhelming, I couldn’t figure out how to get the massage chair to work. Note to self: there’s an orange on/off button.

They asked me to put my feet in a bowl of what I thought was Blue Curacao because in my mind, alcohol kills germs.

After that, they started the pedicure which included a hydrotherapy soak, some work on my cuticles and nails, and more. It was supposed to include callus remover but the lady doing my pedi said out loud that my feet were very soft and didn’t need it. I’m pretty sure that received a smirk from the lady to my right and a look of sadness and embarrassment from yours truly.

My favorite parts of the pedicure were the foot massage with hot stones and the moisturizing mask wrapped in warm towels. It about put me in a relaxing sleep complete with snoring.

Once I was done, I felt like a new man. In fact the only man in there getting a pedicure at that time. Not just the only man but the customer with the softest feet. I attribute it all to owning a pair of Nike Monarchs.

There were some things I noticed about Classy Nails that impressed me. The owner did a great job of greeting every customer and showing his appreciation. Employees there knew so many of the regulars and chatted with them on a personal level about family. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time. They really seemed to hone in on customer service and providing a comforting ambience for them.

Guys if you have never had a pedicure, let me tell you…… they aren’t that bad!

Now with a daughter on the way, I’m sure I’ll be back in a few more years for one of their princess pedis.
