By now you’ve heard the east side Doo-Dah Diner has closed down. But with one closing came an opening as the newly remodeled downtown Doo-Dah Diner opened last week. We stopped by to check out the new digs which were made more convenient by their call-ahead seating.

Fans of Doo-Dah Diner should really enjoy the renovations. It’s more wide open, there’s more seating and it just feels nicer. They also did a great job on the ventilation as I didn’t leave smelling like I just tried on a new breakfast cologne.
Of course no visit would be complete without some breakfast. To keep our daughter happy, I bribed her with the complimentary monkey bread which seemed to work and kept her relaxed the entire morning. I’m hoping she feels the same about chips & salsa when we stop by a Mexican restaurant next.
Then to keep our appetites happy, we ordered the waffle and the special they had that day. Get a load of this French toast sandwich. It was white french toast, ham, sausage, maple bacon, one egg & smoked Gouda served with hashbrowns. It was a knockout of a meal. When it came to comfort foods, this was like a best of dish featuring many breakfast favorites rolled up into one sandwich.
Doo-Dah Diner didn’t miss a beat. There were many diners in that morning all happy for their return.
If you’re a big condiment fan like myself, I highly recommend the strawberry jalapeno fruit spread. I tried a sample of it with my sandwich and knew instantly I had to have a jar for home. It’s a fruity and very slightly spicy fruit spread that I’ve been making sandwiches out of at home. Absolutely delicious.
The menu stayed the same and offered everything you remembered before they closed down to remodel.
