It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Il Primo Espresso Caffe. I knew the long-time owners before they sold it in 2010 so it’s been at least a decade since my last stop. Well since we were in the area and needed a pick me up because I’m all about that caffeine these days, we swung by the Caffe.

I’ve slowly been getting myself into the world of coffees because it seems like the “parent thing to do” when you don’t get much sleep. Il Primo was in the back of my mind 100% because of Instagram. I tell many restaurant and food truck owners, people choose where to go with their eyes. When you post pictures of your product, something that is free and easy to do, it encourages people to come.
I saw this a few days before and knew I had to try it:
On our visit, I had just that, the Cold Brew Granita with Pink Whip. Since I’m clueless when it comes to all things coffee, I had no idea what a granita was. I just saw pink whip and thought that’d be tasty which it was. At first sip, I thought it was pretty strong but when my girlfriend took a sip she kind of laughed and said that wasn’t strong at all. Guess I need to work on my coffee tolerance. My girlfriend tried one of their dairy free drinks which she surprisingly liked.
To top it off we had a scone and a blackberry tart from Elderslie Farm; great pairing combinations for our drinks.
Overall a great little time.
…..and to this day, I still wonder why they spell it Caffe and not Cafe.
